What is recommended fuel type?
I have been using Premium gas in my 1995 Corolla and getting about 35 mpg on the highway. I don't have the owner's manual so I don't know what the manufacturer's recommended fuel type is. Can I change to Regular gas without hurting the car or substantially decreasing my mpg?

Your car is made to work with regular gas, so no need to put some premium. Premium make notin for cars that made for Regular gaz. The only thing it do, its more expensive.
Run regular... if it's designed for regular it runs better with regular... Occasionally run premium or put a fuel additive in though... The extra detergents keep the engine clean... Not necessary but it helps keep the engine in tip-top shape.
the only time you need to run 91 octane or higher is if you have high compression engine or a turbocharger in it or if you advanced the timing so much that it wont run on regular otherwise your just burning money

Yes. It only requires 87 octane. I just bought one loaded. Great car - enjoy it. Once a month on a fill up first put in Lucas small bottle and fill tank to keep injectors clean.
Can I also use unleaded to my 1991 corolla small body?
I’ve been running 91 gas in my 2011 Toyota Corolla for a couple years now. I’m wondering if I’ve had shaking while driving because it was actually knocking. All the shaking is gone after I didn’t drive it for 4 das and I used to get 25 miles mpg now I get 24 mpg. I have 260,000 miles on the engine. Replaced tranny at 120,000. Should I switch back to 87 grade? I don’t think 91 is a complete waste of money if it keeps my engine clean and also, will using it always do me any good with keeping my engine clean or will using it once in a while work just as good?
