Old 2 reader do it have a relay as well as a fuse or do I need different obd2

My OBD two reader on a 97 Toyota corolla
1.6 engine will not read when I connect to
this car is it possible that there's a really
that's not working because the fuses good
and it also worked on a 96 Nissan Ultima
what should I try

Many times the OBDII port is fused with the cigarette lighter or power accessory circuit. Locate and check the fuse.
