Loosing speed
I have 98 corolla le. My cas check engine light
comes ON i went to autozone they scan it and
show me the code P0500.My car has problems, 1.
Loosing normal speed. For example. I drove on
highway my speed was 65 mph suddenly MY
Speedometer went down not moving and same
time i loose speed also i pressed on my gas but my
car does not catch to the right speed 65mph i used
to run it. Going couple of miles i feel some thing
just boost me from my back and i catch my right
speed that time my speedometer works correctly
but check engine light not go away. This problem
happens most when weather is hot and check
engine light doesn't appear on winter season.
P0500 code is speedsensor or poor electrical
connection. Plz i need all of your good suggestions
to get rid of it.
One mechanic told me change speedometer,
change sparkplugs and wire, change valve cover
gasket tube seals.
But i want acceptable and reasonable solutions i
love my car but i am confused that other
mechanics told me it may have air leaking, some
one said exhaust manifold etc etc plz help me out
of this problem.thanks

Possible causes... - Faulty Vehicle Speed Sensor - Vehicle speed sensor harness or connectors is open or shorted - Vehicle speed sensor circuit poor electrical connection - Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)... Tech notes... The P0500 code is very common on the Toyota Tacoma, Toyota Yaris, Toyota Camry, Toyota Tundra, Toyota RAV-4. Before replacing the sensor you should try cleaning the sensor gear and erasing the code. If the light comes back you may have to replaced the sensor... The almost 0 km/h (0 MPH) signal from vehicle speed sensor is sent to ECM even when vehicle is being driven. Possible symptoms... - Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light) - Speedometer may not work properly - Transmission shifting problem P0500 Toyota Description... The vehicle speed sensor outputs a 4 pulse signal for every revolution of the rotor shaft, which is rotated by the transmission output shaft via the driven gear. After this signal is converted into a more precise rectangular waveform by the waveform shaping circuit inside the combination meter, it is then transmitted to the Engine Control Module (ECM). Sorry. I apologize but the truth is that I learn more from those victims like me than from the others that "play mechanic doctors"... I very thankful from the rest of the victims and I am sorry for those that has fallen in the hands of "mechanics" and the money these victims have been robbed since their problems continue! I, in the meantime, have saved ALL that money to spend it as down payment for a new car while I continue driving my Toyota Corolla 98 LE with that check engine light ON that comes and go, plus the needle that goes from Zero miles to whatever at any time and mostly when it is COLD, and ....ALL this for around 8 years!!! I did purchase once a new VSS but months later I returned it because I sort of enjoyed reading all the frustrating moments and different answers that helped to no one now I see. 2020...and I will let you know how much longer I will be able to continue driving this "lemon" car or it may survive ME with this coronavirus 19, A senior citizen
