ECT sensor

had an ect sensor code come up, but the temp gauge showed in the middle.
changed the ect and the gauge shot up to red right away. changed it again and
the same thing happened, what causes this?

Sounds like the wiring going to the sensor is bad. Look for a bare spot on the wiring that's touching something metal. This will drive the temperature gauge to hot every time. Hope that helps! Jim
