Asked by gbenito Sep 22, 2013 at 03:58 PM about the 1999 Toyota Corolla VE

Question type: General

I have a 99 Toyota Corolla VE auto transmission has a drain plug that is a allen or hex as some call it plug. I tried a allen wrench socket size 3/8 and it is the next size to small . Even a 10 mm size and the next size too small . What is the correct size for this plug. I have lossed it but I want to get the correct size in order not to mess the plug up. I think it should be a metric size , but what size?

every fastener on your vehicle is metric. is it smaller or larger than the 10mm you tried?

It is larger, should be the next size, then right? I would say an 11 mm then. Thanks
