if the alt. dies or has problems the "batt" light will come on , if it runs crappy then there are codes you have to scan and autozoo should have done that . If you can't do the work then unfortunately you have to find an honest mech. Or do the work yourself .If it was easy everyone would do it .
I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "pull off" and "puts." Can you elaborate?
It hesitates at first then shoots off when i push all the way down on the petal.
Well you might have multiple things going on, first a bad alternator, undercharged battery, and the hesitation, which could mean your car needs a good tune up or clean the throttle body. When you press the accelerator all the way to the floor, it sets a "clear flood" mode, meaning it stops sending gas to the injectors or throttle body in order to let the engine clear itself of excess gas. If you are running "too rich" (too much gas in the air-fuel mix) it can be from dirty sensors. I don;t know how "hands on" you want to be with your car, you may want to take it somewhere for a proper tune up (plugs, wires, coils) and clean/replace all filters and sensors.
bad combo... if you have a very low battery and a bad alternator=no juice for all the electrical stuff that makes the car go.Try running it with a fully charged battery
