Solutions for eliminating burning odor/Smell of smoke after replacing engine cover gasket in 2001 Toyota Corolla?

I had the engine cover gasket of my '01 Corolla CE changed in order to fix a possible leakage of engine oil. I had to top it up at least 2(quarts) after every 400 miles. After the replacement, I have noticed a burning odor / smell of smoke in my car. The smell intensifies after I reach around 60 mph. It also smells at low speeds, if being driven for 30 mins or more. What could be the reason? Any suggestions. I have 156,000 + miles on my car. Please advice possible remedies.

I would inspect for more oil leaks. Although how long since the work was done? If only a day or so it could just be burning off any oil / residue that got on engine and exhaust manifold during the gasket repair and should stop smelling soon.

I have been driving it for 4 days now and I have driven less than 150 miles so far. The first day it was really strong and has reduced. But it is still pretty strong.

something is maybe in contact with a hot part, namely the exhaust header pipe,with the engine cool, feel across the pipe for a wire loom or hose before you burn melt a group of wires and get stranded
