This morning i got engine light stays on. what could be reason?

you can go to ehow .com and they will give you so causes before you spend alot of money.

Unless you know the exact codes by having it scanned then the problem cannot be fixed. Take it to autozone or advance autoparts and have them scan it and print a list out for free.

The first thing to do is to double check the gas tank cap. If not tightened correctly, the engine light will go on as air enters the tank and keeps the fuel injection system from creating a good vacuum. Sometimes, dirt or rust around the filler tube where the cap usually seals is enough to let air in and light the signal. That is what happened with my 2005 corolla and a little sanding around the tube's opening with fine grit sand paper did the job.
