2005 corolla ran out of gas and won't start???

As many details as possible. My son ran his 2005 corolla out of gas. He got
home and grabbed the first gas can he saw. A lot of trash and probably water
in it. I disconnected the quick connect on the fuel supply line and the pump is
working great. Gas was real cloudy compared to a jar with clean gas in it.     I
dropped the tank and drained it completely. Pulled out the backseat and
accessed the fuel pump. Pulled it out completely cleaning everything out.
There was pieces of cut grass all in it. Even a spider! I completely wiped out
the entire inside of the tank. Put clean gas back in it, disconnected the supply
quick connect to check for gas and YES it's pumping. The car will not start.

Change the fuel filter also, Hopefully the last of the debris has been trapped in it.. IF It still will not start test for fuel pressure at the fuel rail with a pressure gauge make sure fuel is flowing to the injectors. Regards
