2001 Echo makes a vibrating noise from the dash when in neutral

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2001 Echo makes a vibrating noise from the dash when I put the car in neutral (5-speed). I looked at the engine and all seems fine. It sounds like the plastic dashboard is vibrating. I'm not sure what the deal is?

It sounds as if your clutch/flywheel are slightly warped. This can occur in manual transmission vehicles with many miles. The cure would be to replace the clutch and have the flywheel machined.
