160,000 miles. Was told I have metal shavings in my Transmission fluid, after that was disclosed at oil change I had my vehicle not go onto Over drive (once so far) The dealer told me to do the transmission service (flush and fill & check out) I heard that the Flush and fill at this many miles would/could cause transmission troubles to begin. What's your opinion?

Personally if my trans fluid looks and smells good with no shifting issues I don't fool with it. And if I do think I might have an issue I only do a fluid and filter change(not a flush) and add a can of CTC to new transmission fluid.
So the car not going into OD once shouldn't concern me? since it happened only once? What is the CTC?
2nd ? does this vehicle have a plug or a pan to remove to check the fluid?
CTC is an additive that you can find at car quest. It's rather old school but has many good uses.
