2005 Highlander: 55K miles. This morning my wife went to turn on the car and the engine won't turn over. The vehicle stability control came on. Could this be causing the engine to not turn over?

Check to make sure that battery connections are clean and tight. Check general condition of the battery. Do any lights come on (interior, head lights?) Do they get dim when you try to start? (indicates low voltage of battery) Hope this helps.

How old is the battery? If more than 5 years it might be time for a new one. It could be other issues as well.
