I say SAVE yourself wasted time and energy buy the needed regulator. replace it and forget it. When the JB weld or... whatever epoxy fails with the window down and rain pouring you will NOT regret the new regulator.
Just replaced mine. New regulator. Worked fine. Put everything back. Job well done. Started car. Ran window down. At 3 or 4 inches down: CLUNK. Off the track, again. What's The Fix?
Sadly, it probably isn't the regulator motor that was the issue. The metal part of the regulator track at the bottom of the window tends to slide back or forth a short way on the rubber, and if it slides too far the regulator connector will be able to reach the spot where it's supposed to be initially slid into the track and fall out. Please take a close look at your regulator track and make sure the metal and rubber parts are lined up...? My issue is similar except that my regulator track assembly has come entirely off the bottom of the window. Not really sure how to reattach it
