The holder for the ignition key on my 2003 Toyota Land Cruiser is cracked.

As long as you have an existing master key, you can program the car to accept a new transponder key, the owner's manual has the procedure. So long as you are buying a new transponder key, may as well use it as intended rather than stripping it for parts.
