can i run my 1991 toyota pickup deluxe 4wd 4cyl with NO thermostat at all?

I removed thermostat from truck and never replaced it. is this going to cause problems with my vehicle? is thermostat necessary?

Not recommended. Sure, it will run fine, but can get too hot from coolant not staying in radiator long enough to cool, or vice-versa never warm up and lots of miles with a too-cool engine is not good. So bottom line, yes it's necessary, they put them in there for a reason
