my 91 v6 toyota pickup still has gasket problems and ticking sounds after engine has been rebuilt.

Would still want to "toy" my truck up but not sure of what route to take.  I was told by many that the engine will always fail even after the engine has been rebuilt.  I don't have a lot of funds to spend but was hoping to do things slowly through time such as painting, lifting.  The engine seems to be a big hassle but this truck has sentimental value also.

i usualy go to pick and pull for eginnes for my toys can normaly get them for about 350-450 on the v6 i priced a rebuild at about 1600 and i can get a new vze for about 1800-2000 si i have not had that problem with gaskets but as for toying out the truck you can get a chip for about 69 and a summit racing catalog is free i have gotton about 45 more horse power and 5 mpg in the city and only thing ive done is put Bosh Platunium plugs accell 8.5mm racing wires MSD blaster2 coil pack and a K&N air filter on my truck and amazed the difference it makes coil $65 wires $75 filter $45 pl,ugs !.75 each if you change coil to MSD or any aftermarket coil pack that is better let me know there is a trick to get it to work if you just change out it will never start
