i have a 2001 RAv4 just got it 6 weeks ago. i had a toyota repair shop check it out. Now,check engine light is flashing, hesitation and metal pinging sounds. Wouldnt the mechanic know of issues?

Its at 147,500k and i am not original owner.  I feel like the AC is on, like no power taking off from a stoplight, Now its been 3 days and now have high pitched ping of metal bouncing around!! Will Toyota help me at a dealership?

have your diagnostics read at an auto parts store or access your own built in OBD...check the manual...it is a series of flashes...or if it has an OBD-II connector you can read them yourself...right now...shootin' from the hip am going to condemn your EGR valve for being stuck open~

the TPS can be reporting confused...mixed signals to your ECU so these contradictory signals can confuse the operation~
