Can a bad exhaust system cause the VSC Trac and the Check Engine light to come on?

Yes. The ECU will shut down the VCS/Trac intentionally when the DTC detects anything wrong in the power train. It doesn't want the brakes and throttle giving automatic commands when it's not running right

I think I'm having the same problem I just install a new muffler and the 3 lights came on, the muffler shop saying the muffler has nothing to do with the lights coming on is this true ?
