Asked by Mommom02 May 20, 2016 at 10:41 AM about the 2005 Chevrolet Equinox LT AWD

Question type: General

I recently purchased a used 2005 chevy
equinox lt limited edition with under a
130000 miles  the day i baught it i got the oil
changed etc went to a do it yourself car
wash waxed it all that its a beautiful was
running like a dream until i went to the car
wash i had a family situation and was going
back and forth o the hospital my car got
dirty in the rain i didnt have time to wash it
myself so i went to the gas station filled my
tank went through the car wash noticed
some water spots so i decided to pull in the
next parking lot and dry my car welli pulled
into the parks ng lot theres a slite downhill
slant and water poured out of the roof of my
car went all over the inside like a waterfall
the interior dome light filled with water it
was a mess i imediatly got a towel and dried
everything out the best i could so i started it
the check engine light the tc light and the
engine with the lightining bolt came on and
stayed on i had my son with me so i called
my insurauncecompany to see what i could
do she suggested i wait 30 min try again so i
did still nothing after sitting another twenty
minutes my son drove it home with the tc
light and all on and it would not go faster
than 5 mph with the flashers on we made it
home let it set on flat ground in the sun
overnight next day it was fine drove it to the
hospital which is over 60 miles away made it
there and back it seemed to be fine two
days later i was on the freeway at 4 am in
the fast lane going about 65-70 and out of
no where it started losing power fast from
60-70 to 45 40 i was slowly merging into the
slow lane to take the next exit which by then
it was at 10 mph i was on the off ramp it
died i sat there  for two hours until my
brother came and got me since then ive had
a code check it has, three or four codes pop
up and it shakes when i start it its just a
mess and i dont know what to do ive never
heard of a car going through a car wash and
breaking down its hard to explain but its, just
sitting i dont know what to do everyone
thinks its a faulty seal in the sunroof but it
didnt leak when it rained or going through
the car wash it wasnt until exiting the car
wash i was told the tray under the sunroof
could have been full and the drains plugged
which would cause the water to pour inside
like it did either way how is it my problem to
fix what can i do i paid alot of money for this
caar and im happy with it just stuck

Next time you post, adding punctuation would really make your rant easier to read. I made it about 1/3 of the way through.

Had the 2013 Equinox in the auto shop once a month till the timing chain went out. It started out by loses power, got that repaired for $900 then it stalled which was the CVU joint broken in front axle. This is as a $500 fee plus towing charges.
