Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 205 chevy impala starts but no
gears. When it was working and being
driven i would loose the gears. All i
would do is shut it off and restart it. I
would have all gears. This went on for
amonth. I replaced the battery now it
starts but no gears. What do you think?
