Trac vsc and engine light
Asked by Toocool4mykids Apr 26, 2019 at 09:42 PM about the 2003 Toyota Sequoia SR5
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My check engine light trac light and vsc light all
came on at once after i got an oil change it will not
turn off. The trac lights normally went off after
pushing the trac button and restarting it but it won't
now. I went to auto zone put it on the machine and
the computer said both my cataylic converters are
stopped up. Wondering if my sensors are messed
up and how to go about finding out if its my
sensors how to fix it or how to go about finding it
the problem and solving it

In all of Toyotas great wisdom, they made it so the traction control system shuts off when you get a check engine light. If the car is running good, I would suspect a sensor issue. As long as the car is running good, turn the code off and see if it comes back. If it does, you may have to go to a garage where emissions work is done and have them sniff it. It would be really odd for both cats to plug.
this also happened to mine after getting an oil change and they cleared the code but the traction control lights stayed on which before they went off when the code was cleared. They say it is the oxygen sensor.
It's a oxygen sensor.

Try driving it down the road and it comes on, your in for a scare of your life. The front left wheel will try locking up and pull you toward the ditch or better yet like it did me about pulled me under a semi truck. I personally unhooked that VSC and pulled the lights out of my dash. Toyota does not want to admit there is a problem. I like my sequoia but I don’t like that feature. It’s supposed to be a safety feature but safety it is not. All mine was, was a loose gas cap.
