Car overheats

Car gets between c and h and overheats 05 impala

The c is probably for cold and the h is for hot. The needle should be about half way between the two. Are you sure it is overheating?

Why do you think the car shutting off has something to do with the temp gauge? Is the car boiling over?

It's not reaching H it's shuts off in the middle it cranks but no start then once the car cools it cranks right up
