04 toyota sequoia no start

Yes it has fuel, not sure about spark as I dont know much about cars.

Okay so ran diagnostics again yesterday and gave me the codws P0340 and P0340 Pd. Two codes that i had previously received. Not sure what my nezt step should be.

that code is for the cam position sensor bank 1. could be a sensor a faulty sensor or a wiring issue. sensor is located on the back of bank 1 head( black connector 1 10mm head bolt ).

I know you replace the sensor,but i have to ask,did you replace the proper one? there is 2.

As far as i am aware there is one camshaft position sensor and one crankshaft sensor. My codes came up for camshaft.

Did you sent the air gap for the cam sensor? were did you buy the sensor? Toyota?

Not sure where the sensor was purchased as my husband ordered it.

Vehicle update: had it looked at, they replaced the timing belt, water pump and hoses along with checking the new camshaft sensor. I'm now being told my vehicle cranks but wont start and needs a new motor. Is this possible?

They did all that to find out you need a motor?? who did you take it to?

A friends dad that works on cars. It just didnt make sense to me that it went from a bad camshaft sensor to a motor replacement.

Does he FIX cars for a living? or just work on them??

I believe it's a side job but he also drives and works on race cars for local drivers. Im thinking of having it towed to a known mechanic and seeing what they say.

Yes, I would take it to someone who FIXES cars, not works on them.

What was the fix? Same issue on my 05 and no start after putting new cam and new crank sensor in.
