Should be higher than 1000 lbs. For comparison a Dodge Ram with 4.7L V8 and factory tow package is rated somewhere around 4500 lbs. So yours should be in that range.
My suburban tows 10000 so i wouldnt tow more than 6000, also it might indicate it on the hitch
Your Towing capacity 2,812 kg (6,200 lb) I have a 2006 limited... and your Payload capacity 590 kg (1,300 lb.)
4wd is 6200 lbs. Rwd is 6500 lbs. max. My 2001 rwd has the 4 spd auto and I stay out of overdrive when towing (I've towed a car on a tandem trailer for a couple hundred miles...in the snow...no problem) The 2005 may have the 5 speed... Either way, staying out of overdrive doesn't cost you that much in gas mileage as the truck gets awful fuel economy anyway.
