Where is the starter located on an 05 Chevy Malibu?

Asked by perkinscarproblems Jan 12, 2016 at 06:09 PM about the 2005 Chevrolet Malibu FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have an 05 Chevy Malibu V6.  It won't start.  When I turn the key over, the
lights will come on.  But, all I hear are clicks.  I'm assuming its the starter, but
I'd like to know where the starter is located.  Does anybody have a good
diagram of a Chevy Malibu Engine?

should be on the front portion of the engine probably drivers side. follow the positive battery cable. BTW, did you try charging the battery or jump starting? a dead battery will do this. If you jump and get it running, test the alternator.

Check the theft system. I have an 05 Malibu and mine was doing the same thing and I thought it was the starter or the fuel pump but it turns out to be the theft system
