Possible causes - Leaking or stuck open thermostat Low engine coolant level Insufficient warm up time Faulty engine coolant temperature sensor Engine coolant temperature sensor harness is open or shorted Engine coolant temperature sensor circuit poor electrical connection. Probably the coolant temperature sensor.
