New starter

New starter installed, started and ran good 2 times right after but now have a
dead battery.  took the battery in and they say it checks good.  Can the wiring
be bad or crossed and cause a battery to not charge?

Bad battery cables, check engine grounds and don't rule out a defective starter it happens.
