What's the difference between a 7mge transmission and a 7mgte transmission?

I have a 7mge engine and transmission in my supra and i am wanting to convert the engine to a turbo. I am wondering if i would have to change the transmission to the 7mgte or can i just convert the engine to a turbo and keep the regurlar 7mge transmission?
Is there a difference in the 7mge and 7mgte transmission?

Its only 4 speed. And i am planning to convert it to turbo, upgrading injection, fuel pump, and ecu.

I'm about to own a 87 Toyota supra liftback, it has 7mge in it, I'm new to the Toyota world, not sure about anything with them, is the 7mge or 7mgte better? Yes I will be put a turbo on it, and rebuilding with cams, and pistons,ect
