Overdrive
1 Answer
Dear Bugzy-- Overdrive is basically the highest gear on your automatic transmission. At high speeds it allows your car to run at lower rpms and therefore improve gas mileage. Manufacturers give you a way to shut out this highest gear so that you have better control of how the car shifts in situations such as climbing and descending a hill. It should be on in an overwhelming percentage of your driving. Good luck from Bovan.
