Any decent mechanic should be able to do it in an hour.
It took me a good deal more than an hour - probably 2-3 hours on my '95 4WD V6. One or two of the bolts were near the top were nearly impossible to get a wrench or socket on. After I thought I'd strip the head with two extensions and two swivels, I pulled up the passenger side carpet and drilled a hole to stick the socket extension through - then easy. put a piece of tin over the hole and duct tape and put the carpet back down. Also, it was a bit of a puzzle as to how to twist and turn the starter to get it out the passenger side wheel well - glad I looked online as to how to solve that puzzle.
