Yes, Suburbans are very reliable vehicles. We had an '89 with a 350 and 700r4 automatic tranny that went over 300k miles when the tranny went out towing a heavy trailer. The engine was still in very good condition, I believe the wrecking yard owner put it into one of his trucks.

we have had two suburbans, a 98 and currently own a 07. both trucks are great in snow and can haul or tow just about anything you want. transmission gave out in the 98 at 200,000 miles and the 07 has some paint issues but over all i would buy another one when this one is done.

Yes, we have almost always owned Suburbans. We currently have an 01 with about 200,000 miles and an 04 with 105,000 miles. Never had any major issues with either of these. We had a suburban go to 325,000 miles before the tranny crapped out. Our Suburbans are nor babied either, we tow trailers all the time with them, haul heavy things in the back, live on a rough dirt road, and sometimes have a little fun four wheeling with them. They will last a very long time as long as you keep up with the maintenance (oil and grease every 5K, tranny fluid every 30K, differentials and transfer case fluids every 50K, and filters spark plugs etc.)
