98 Toyota Tacoma crankshaft pulley

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I recently replaced my crankshaft pulley in my 98
Tacoma and it worked fine for the first 50 miles but
after that it over heated on me and I noticed that
none of the belts were working which is causing it
to over heat. What could be wrong? Could it be the
crankshaft pulley that we replaced ?

Did you forget the key in the main pulley key way or forget to torque the pulley bolt?
when I put the key on half of it is stinking got of the key way
Yes to your first response. Without it the pulley will not turn with the crank.
what could be the best way for me to make the key fit without it sticking out ?
The key sticks out and lines up with the groove in the pulley.
so there should be a slot in where the pulley goes in
