Why is my truck idling so high?

98 Tacoma idling very high in park, anyone have any idea why?

My 2001 had the same symptom caused by the idle air control (IAC) valve that bypasses the carb butterfly valve. A straight-forward DIY job.

I said straight-forward ... not easy. :-) It's right on top and involves a couple of bolts, electrical connectors, and vacuum hoses - check YT videos. I just wanted to make you aware that DIY (or a mechanic friend) might be an option rather than a shop or dealer ($$$). The OEM part is pricey. Good Luck!
