1998 toyota tacoma overheating v6

I replaced the radiator and the thermastat twice. it still is overheating the heater works fine. I was going to replace the fan clutch next I can't find any information on how to test it. also I was wondering what the possibility of my water pump not working propely? It was replaced about two years ago. my system has no leaks and doesn't loose coolant every time I check the coolant it is full

Dear nss-- You may have a blockage somewhere in the cooling system of your 1998 Toyota Tacoma. Or your problem may indeeed be the water pump. Or maybe you have a loose belt or maybe the fan is missing a blade, or maybe the engine control computer is faulty. Could be a lot of things. Most are easy to check and eliminate. You might need a professional to take a look at it to eliminate the guesswork. Good luck from Bovan.

If the fan clutch is out the fan won't spin or it will spin too slowly. Have someone start the engine while you watch...if the clutch is out the fan won't take off right away but may still spin. If you aren't losing coolant it probably isn't the head gaskets but check your oil and the inside of your oil cap, if it looks at all milky white I would suspect the head gaskets. I have seen a lot of aftermarket waterpumps go bad in a short period of time but they usually leak somewhere when they do.
I just got a 6800 dollar buyback from toyota on my 98 tacoma; based on the frame not passing on account of rust out. There is a "campaign" to buy back the tacomas from 95 to 2000 from present owners. Buybacks are set at the 1.5 x value of a truck in top condition. Look into it.
