How do I disable the factory alarm?

Asked by Aaron Jul 07, 2011 at 02:14 AM about the 2000 Toyota Tacoma 2 Dr STD Standard Cab LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The alarm is made by the United States Alarm Company, and it is basically an ignition cut-off. It arms itself automatically, randomly, and it has been getting harder and harder to shut it off. Sometimes it takes up to 3 hours to disarm the alarm, and it has cost me a job already. I have managed to disconnect a few wires and stop the horn alarm, but I need to disable the ignition cut-off. How do I do this? I'm worried that if I cut it when its armed, I'll never get it to start again
