you might have the "plug" type, you check it like you check the rear diff. If not the dip-stick should be by the firewall, red/yellow handle
There isn't one. The 2005+ Tacoma uses World Standard ATF, which Toyota claims never needs to be serviced. It's a sealed transmission and you need to follow a certain procedure to service it. If you're not leaking trany fluid, the you're probably fine.
Yes Ian is correct! I have 102,000 miles on my 05. I went to the dealer to double check, if it gets changed. They said no.
i have a 2006 tacoma and it has 128k and i was told by toyota dealer service center that my truck needed transsmision oil flush since the truck had reached 100k but anyways the truck does not have a dip stip for tran. fluid
Hi all, Just have my 2005 Tacoma Pre Runner transmission service. It take World standard fluid, (no dipstick). According to my Toyota service advisor at Kearny Toyota, fluid must be changed when the the vehicle reaches over 100K. I felt slight tugs, and slippage (the car whine before it engage). Hope its not serious.
Life time fluid? Not on your life. Don't believe that for a second. Bare minimum, pull the trans mission drain bolt and drain hopefully 3 liters . Replace exactly what comes out then check it while at operating temperature.
