Sputtering

Asked by Lillimey Aug 25, 2016 at 02:57 PM about the 2004 Chevrolet Blazer LS 4-Door 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My blazer acts like the fuel can't get to it. It
sputters and I don't have much power.
Although check engine light stays on it
blinks when I'm trying to pick up speed.
Once it gets up and going it's perfect until I
have to slow down. I've replaced the
speed sensor about  8 months. On getting
frustrated and don't know if I should trust
it. Oh at the same time the brake light and
red engine come
Help before I burn it

First take ur blazer 2 auto zone and have them give ur blazer a diagnostic reading. If misfire detected comes up, its ur sparkplugs. Also check ur cap and rotor, u might have 2 use a piece of sand paper and clean ur contacts. Ur spark plug wires could be crossed. Like my 99 Chevrolet blazer, the guy that removed my cap and rotor and cleaned my contacts, installed wire 5 on spark plug 1, wire 3 was correct, wire 1 on spark plug 5 wires 2,4,and 6 were correct. By crossing 1 to 5 and 5 to 1 was causing the symptoms of ur blazer. I bought brand new spark plugs and installed them correctly and my blazer runs like a champ.

Well beings there is no cap or rotor or wires on a 2002 trailblazer. Check your coil packs. One may be weak and miss firing. Moisture in gas seems to be a issue lately as well.
