Service light turns on with high beams after installing LED headlights

I upgraded to angel eye LED halo projection headlights. When I turn on my
high beams, the service light comes on. It doesn't shut off until the car is turned
off. Is this because the LED uses so much less power that the car thinks the
bulbs are burned out? (this is what the guy at O'Reilly's said, taking that with a
grain of salt)

Yes, I'm sure they were made in China. They are plug and play lights. There's a red wire on the back, but nothing on the car to wire it into. I got the whole headlight assembly as one set unit, bulbs and housing.
I think he meant what you're saying, since the bulbs use less power, the car doesn't think enough power is being put out, like when the bulb is burned out...I think. But I trust o'reilly's guy as much as i trust a fart after eating taco bell.
That's was caused the guy from O'Reilly to give me his explanation. I asked for a scan due to the idiot light. He said the scan wouldn't find anything and gave me another stupid explanation why.
I'll go to advance auto parts. those guys actually know stuff and don't try to bullshit me cuz I'm a girl. The guy at O'reilly tried that, he learned very quickly that I'm a tomboy and not stupid.
I think so. I've never really checked. When I pull up the e-brake, the lights turn off, like normal. It has daytime running lights, that I can tell are on, even if I don't turn on the headlights.
Tend to agree with the O reilly guy. Look at it this way. The computer reads the voltage drop when the headlights are on. LEDs ( Light Emitting Diode) use aprox 1- 2.5 volts to work . The program will think the lights out. The fix put it back the way it was or take out your OHMs law book and figure out the value of the resistor you need to ad.
Okay what are DRLs? I got the lights on Ebay, they came with no instructions. There's 2 red wires on the back of the lights, no idea what to do with them
I've talked to a guy at a local aftermarket shop who's going to do some research for me. He said the same thing about the DRLs, thinks that is the cause. Also found out that my lights aren't LEDs!! They're damn H7 halogens.
