2004 Chevy Cavalier sputtered the died

Asked by RobbyBill Aug 17, 2016 at 05:56 PM about the 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier LS Sport Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Son was driving his 2004 Cavalier when it
sputtered, jerked and than quit running. He
was mashing the gas pedal as it began to
die and said the rpm's were just bottoming
out. Tried to restart it but good. Got it
towed home. Checked a few things. Has
good spark off the ignition module,
replaced the crank positioning sensor still
same. Turns over but not starting. Acted
like it was trying but no good. Any
thoughts or advice are welcome.

If you spark has to be a fuel problem check to see if fuel pump is working. Also spray some starting fluid or throttle body cleaner into throttle body to see if vehicle starts for a few seconds if so check fuel pump pressure.
