Can a a bad intake gasket cause water in oil on a a chevrolet classic 2.2 l?

Yes, definitely. If you replace them go with FelPro over the GM brand. This seems to be a common problem with this engine.

PS: A good shop can do this repair as good (or better) than a dealer, and charge you a lot less. It's also a good DIY job if you're handy.
