You need to keep a close eye on the temp and keep it under 200 degrees. The fan will keep running until you get the sensor replaced. The check engine light is coded now and will continue to come out until memory is cleared. Also check antifreeze. It should be a clean color depending on the type...green or yellow/gold. If looked contaminated think about flushing system. Also need to check water flow. Remove radiator cap WHILE COLD and run engine with cap off until engine warms to normal temp. Watch water in radiator to see if it is flowing. That shows if water pump is working and thermostat is opening.

theres two fans one is not coming on which is causing car to overheat, what needs to be replaced, and what is it called?

It is a temp sensor that the fan plugs into usually located on the radiator. Before changing hook up 12 volts from battery to fan to insure the fan motor hasn't burned up via test wires. The sensor tells the fan when to come on. If wired in conjuntion with other fan check plugins.
