Question type: General

When I'm driving my car(not all the time) it'll start out driving smooth as a dream then out
of no where I don't know maybe how I hit the gas or what I'll get these little quick jerks as
I'm just driving along. It use to do it when it was between 25-30 miles but it seemed like it
wld go away when you went up in speed.. Now it does it no matter what. Like I said it's
strange cuz it doesn't do it all the time-I can drive it practically all day turn it off for a
couple of mins/hrs and it'll start up fine drive off fine then when you start to drive there it
goes. What's this mean?? Please help.

Check your mass air flow sensor. My 01 Chevy impala did the same thing and I bought a new sensor from Amazon and it runs like a champ now.

For anyone else reading this: I have a 2008 Impala 3.5 that had this problem; it would idle a little rough, it jerked when applying throttle from start occasionally and it would hiccup/stutter randomly in low ranges of certain gears (40-45 and 70-75 mph). Recommendations included MAF (I replaced), clean throttle body (I did), new Throttle Position Sensor (TPS replaced), new spark plugs (replaced), and evap canister (replaced). Nothing worked. Before these changes my mechanic checked it on the diagnostic computer and it showed a rich Bank 1 code (cylinders 1/3/5). It wasn’t until I changed the ignition coil that everything went back to normal. $40 bolt on part; simple. I have seen many people complain about this problem with the 2006-2008 impalas and yet no one ever figures it out. Hopefully this helps someone.

Waiting on my diagnosis of my SS & the cost!! Oh my! If all these people have the same problem- it should be covered by GMC CHEVY. Would you think? I a 90 model & it jerked too. Got rid of it b4 what Im going through now.
