i have a 2004 chevy impala the car sputters battery light comes on and the rpm fluctuates what could be the problem

it does not happen all the time but maybe every second day and then it stops i tried new
gas put premium in it but still did it today

Check air filter and clean throttle body replace fuel filter if have not done so in a while and if the battery light is coming on get that checked out because usually when it comes on the alternator is not charging.
