In chevy tahoe/silverado trucks, if you change the ignition switch the computer needs to relearn the new unit. It does this by turning the ignition switch to the on position 3 times, for 10 minutes each time. After the third time, the computer recognizes the new replacement and acknowledges the signal. I have done this, and it worked. But just like you, it would turn over but not start until I did this procedure.
