2004 Chevy Suburban transmission slips

Asked by Beandip4 Jul 28, 2021 at 07:03 PM about the 2004 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 LS RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2004 Chevy Suburban with 216,000 miles on it currently. It runs
great getting up to speed gears 1 through 3, the two issues that I am running
into is when it downshift from 4th to 3rd the transmission slips and jolts the
car. It is most noticeable when I am going up hill. The second issue that I am
running into is when I get up to cruising speed 65 to 70, in 4th gear only, and
without shifting gears the car kicks every so often almost like the
transmission is slipping and jolting the car.

If anyone has any insight on what could be the cause of these two issues
that would be greatly appreciated!

1 Answer

The transmission is worn out. Try some Lucas transmission fix if you need to get a few more miles out of it.
