Limp mode car won't go past 1500 rpm

I have a 1993 W124 300E 2.8 that goes limp home mode after driving for
awhile with the coolant at 90*F and outside temp is 104*f. I have replaced all
possible parts from ovp sp plugs 3 ign coils spk plugs cable throttle acuator
biodegradable harness thermostat cooling fan resistors alternator carbon
brush ! egr valve cold airmass sensor the car has new head gasket new fuel
pump/filter fuel pump regulator. What else is possible cause of this
mysterious limp home mode? do i need a new ECU and catalytic converter
car has 143,000.mi .Help is greatly appreciated.

My 1993 300te has just done the same thing!! What did you find out!?

I actually bought this exact car from this guy 2 months ago and all it was was the flap in the throttle body was broken so we replaced the whole thing and haven’t had an issue with it since. The guy never said anything about the issue and on my way out of town it did it to me so I had to tow it home. Drives great now and he only put 2 thousand miles on it cause he couldn’t figure it out. I already put more than that on it in the 2 months I’ve had it.
