New battery, as the NON-lead ones will only last five years begin to punish the alternator...the 1/0 main ground (black cable) from the battery to the point that you are going to scrub clean with a coarse wirebrush...that 1/0 lug too~ bolt them together with your new battery and your computer will run confidently, not with varying available amperages and varying voltages....surprised it ran at all~

get the corrosion off of there...with every start this connection will make with the blue spark as both the lug and the ground spot are "welded" submitting a conductive part....every time you start...what you're left with is a "love biscuit" of corrosion....your job is to scratch this love biscuit down to metal once again...do you understand now?

Dude sounds crazy as f**k! Check your spark plugs (take em all out, yes, all 6 of em. really dirty? put new ones in), plug leads (look for any splits in the whole length of the lead) including the one that runs to the ignition coil, inside of the distributor cap (check the cap itself for any cracks and clean the contacts inside), and the coil itself.
