C200k Accelerator

Asked by Mbc200k Jun 23, 2017 at 01:50 PM about the 2000 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C 280 Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a C200k Year 2000 model. The car will be
cruising nicely and then all of a sudden, when I
press the accelerator, NO response though the
engine will be running. When I park and switch the
engine off for about 15 minutes and restart the
engine, the car is fine again then at no set time, it
does the same again. I have replaced the
accelerator pedal with a brand new one from MB
but problem still exists.  Any help will be
aporeciated as I am at the end of my tether.

The throttle bodies on the c series MB's were problematic. You can try and clean it with throttle body safe cleaner. It should be removed from the engine for cleaning. But will likely need to be replaced.
