I have a 2000 mercedes c 280 and the key would not turn. i tried movind the steering wheel to see if tha will help but didnt have any luck.

Most likely the ignition switch mechanism is worn. Sometimes you can wiggle the key for engagement but that will not solve problem. If keyfob was dropped and damaged that could be another possibility. Only other idea is the spring loaded sensor inside the fob hole is not extended to the top of the shaft and is lodged at the bottom. Good Luck!
