Radio quit working and there is no display. What can I check? The fuse is fine.

Asked by KSH1957 May 03, 2014 at 10:42 AM about the 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer LT RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Before it quit every once in a while when you would turn the key on you would have to reset the clock and all things associated with the radio. Now the radio does not come on and the display doesn't either and the warning for the keys is not working but the fuse for the radio is fine. What else needs to be checked?

I think there are 2 fuses you need to check. When that happened to me on an earlier model (2004) the fuse in the box under the left rear passenger seat was blown. I check a fuse under the hood and it was fine. Be sure to check the fuse with an Ohm meter. May be blown or open and not be visible. Good luck.

We have the same issue & both fuses are fine. My thought is the radio itself has crapped the bucket. Anyone figure this out?

I came here looking for answers and it seemed everyone had similar things to look at. The 2 fuses. The red wire coming out of the fuse box (under the hood). And double check wire connections. Everything was perfect for my 07 trailblazer. Battery died one day. After boosting it it worked fine other than the radio was lifeless... After digging around I unplugged the after market dinger/module. I plugged it back in and it dinged! Radio came back to life after that. Must just be a RESET for the system? Hope this helps someone!
